Askheimr Norway
Askheimr is the old name of Askim, the hometown of Mathias Hemmingby.
Started around 2017. I did the
recording of the songs in 2018-2019. At this point the project is a oneman band. And the recording is done by Mathias Hemmingby.
I plan to give the listener the ultimate experience of what nordic metal is all about!

L'E.P. Spire peut servir de très bonne introduction à celles et ceux qui veulent découvrir Mesarthim avec un son plus accessible et instrumental. Quand "Crater" sert d'introduction electro très douce — c'est limite si le chant sert de berceuse — finissant sur des amen breaks complexes, "Spire" mise plutôt sur un black metal atmosphérique merveilleux. On notera que, si . fait tout, cela ne veut pas dire que . ne fait rien : il fait "l'autre". Un indice qu'il faut regarder derrière les choses...

Dans The Density Parameter, Mesarthim reprend tous les ingrédients qui font leur marque de fabrique : des pistes assez longues au rythme énergique (très palpable sur "Recombination" par exemple) et jouant sur des structures cycliques, un chant qui erre parmi les étoiles... Les ambiances sont prolifiques mais elles changent la donne : gracieuses, certes, mais surtout plus mélancoliques qu'autrefois. The Density Parameter est un peu la dernière bouffée d'oxygène que donne la combinaison spatiale.
